A highlight of the North American Fastpitch Association annual slate will split into two events for the 2013 season, NAFA WoodBat commissioner Dave Parker and NAFA executive director Benjie Hedgecock announced.<\/p>\n

Formerly the NAFA WoodBat Nationals, the premier event on the WoodBat men\u2019s fastpitch softball scene will split into the NAFA Western WoodBat World Series, set for Aug. 24-25 in Prescott, Arizona, and the NAFA Eastern WoodBat World Series, set for Aug 31 and Sept 1 in Madison, Wisconsin.<\/p>\n

The Western event at the legendary Prescott complex will be a three-game guarantee, with prizes for first through fifth place, All-American awards, tournament MVP and MVP pitcher. Entry fee is $350.<\/p>\n

The Madison Eastern event is set for Labor Day weekend at the Bowling Green Recreation Center in Middleton, Wis.<\/p>\n

Last summer, the Kansas City Indios defeated the Wizards of Oz to earn the 2012 WoodBat Nationals title.<\/p>\n
